THE MYSTERY SCHOOLS - the Science of Consciousness makes reference to the willed cessation of heart beat and breathing in order to induce a cataleptic state that generates a conscious death in order to access the infinite. This method required a person to dedicate their entire lifetime to this one goal. The training regimen has been lost, but the direct experience of the Infinite plane may be easily accessed without training by virtually anyone interested in having the experience. It is done while sleeping. There are contiguities and commonalities shared by those whose experience ceremonial crucifixion, those who meditate, and those who dream. In each case breathing and heart rates are reduced. Meditation seeks the willful cessation of the product of the mind, which is thought. This takes disciplined practice to achieve. Not many have the time, or inclination, but virtually all of us dream. The natural process of what we call the mind is to produce thought. What is a thought ? A thought is an idea. What is an idea ? An idea is a picture. What is a picture ? A picture is a dream. It is the nature of our minds to produce dreams as we sleep. We do not have to be trained or to practice anything to achieve this. Humankind are natural dreamers. One of the theories put forth by the medical/scientific community is that dreams serve as entertainment in order to keep the body self dormant, giving the body processes the time needed to cleanse and replenish the physical structure. Whatever the need, the mind has a capacity to continue to produce its own thoughts while the body is asleep.' We call them dreams. Most people have had the experience ( particularly in childhood,) of being confronted with a grave danger while dreaming. The danger produces fear. The common remedy is simply to wake up from a bad dream. But another phenomena frequently takes place which does not require an awakening to matter world consciousness. It is called " Coming awake in the dream." What has happened as this occurs is the dreamer has come to the conscious realization that they are dreaming... without waking up. Before, the dreamer and the dream were one. The dreamer was part and parcel of the dream, playing a role as in waking life, a player in the drama. But when the conscious realization comes that Oh yeah, this is just a dream. It isn't real. I can't get hurt by something unreal,' the fear goes away. Having overcome the fear, instead of drowning, we swim with the dolphin. Instead of falling off a cliff, we fly with the eagles. After all since it's only a mental fantasy, what isn't possible in a dream? When this phenomena takes place, it is called by the mystic community "Coming awake in the dream." Before realization the dreamer and the dream were one. After conscious realization the knower has realized that it is separate from that which it is knowing... its own dream. In other words the knower is now distinctly separated from that which was being known. Virtually everyone alive can recognize the truth of this description because it has happened to them as a matter of direct experience.
Most of the legendary visions' of prophets, seers, and sages have been experienced during this phenomenal method. Among ordinary ' people there are several classic experiences. Many people are induced to turn around and look behind themselves while dreaming because they sense a light from behind, or sense the presence of another person, or persons, in their immediate proximity. They are there like an audience who have been watching the dreamer's dream. It is common for these discarnates to be departed relatives, historical figures, saints, prophets and avatars. The very first impression of this plane of mentation is that the clarity of the image, the hue of its color, and the vividness of the dimension far exceeds anything experienced on the Earth plane. Many find themselves thinking " This is really real ! This is superior to anything I have ever beheld. That other world pales in comparison !" Sometimes these experiences are accompanied with spoken communication, sometimes not. Another common report after turning the seat of consciousness, is of seeing what appears to be a fog bank, or a veil. Sometimes the veil is perceived as having a shimmering quality, much like our aurora borealis. If this happens, it is advisable just to stare straight ahead with an unblinking gaze. Something will happen. What may happen is not predictable, but it can be a life altering event. Many people report being greeted and taken beyond the veil by friendly guides. Usually nothing which has occurred beyond the veil will be recallable upon awakening, but the latent benefits are very positive, particularly in reducing fear and anxiety regarding death. Another common ( a rare event, but common to those who have it,) is the seeing of a light. It may appear as if at the end of a tunnel, but it may also appear to be coming through a hole in the floor. Usually the entire field of vision is black, except for the pin point of light. Individuals benefit from preparation for this event because it is easier to maximize the experience if one recognizes it for what it is... and that is the formless God. The best thing that can be done when this happens is to build up the largest head of steam one can and plunge headlong into the Light, diving as deeply as possible. Those who have seen the Light are called Illumined, and they are empowered to carry the word of God. All this while asleep ! These experiences are fairly common among people who have had near death experiences, or who have actually died briefly before resuscitation. Medicals usually explain away these experiences as hallucinations, or attribute them to changes in brain chemistry. It is a travesty of intelligence itself not to accept something which is direct experience for patients simply because the medical professionals are as yet ignorant themselves of having had this kind of direct experience. The doubts among the ignorant have no power to contradict the experience of those who have come to know. No less than Dr. Zahi Hawass [ head of the SCA.] reported in a lecture in Washington D.C. that shortly after the excavation of a family tomb in Bahariya, he suddenly saw four children appear at the foot of his bed one night. [ The tomb had contained two parents and four children.] He said that the children were just standing there looking at him, and one of them said "Are you our Father ? " He described it as being more than a dream, of having a strange surreal quality. Those who disturb ancient grave sites are much more likely to have these kind of experiences. To some they are disturbing and frightening. Others would induce them all the time if they could. But one way or another, a gentleman like Dr. Hawass is not going to jeopardize his reputation and credibility with far out reports such as this, so his report must be real. It is sad Dr. Hawass does as much as possible to discredit others for whom these events are more common place. The ultimate dream for most people would be to dream of God. Virtually all of us want to see God. We produce our own dreams. Why then, are dreams of God so rare ? In the case of those who entered into the sight of God, as did Jesus when crucified in Egypt, the dream never ends. A Christ does not terminate the dream, but is able to wake up and walk around in the matter world as a human person, while at the same time maintaining unbroken consciousness of God being experienced on the eternal plane. This is to be in this world, but no longer of it. ' What fear of death resides in a human who lives in both worlds at once when the death of the body means an eternity in unobstructed God Consciousness ? The methodology of Coming awake in the dream ' is a mystic teaching. It is available to all as a direct experience. [In India, those acheiving direct experience are called Rishis.] As stated before, eternity is not a long span of time, it is another dimension. The eternal dimension may be experienced in the here and now. This scenario is stated more succinctly in Synesius' treatise where the Father of Osiris is made to say to his son " You have also been initiated in those mysteries in which there are two pair of eyes, and it is requisite that the pair which are beneath should be closed when the pair which are above them perceive, and when the pair above are closed, those which are beneath should be opened." We have posted this teaching so that others may experience a higher reality, not vicariously, not as a matter of mere belief, but by direct experience. The best part of it is, it takes no conscious thought. It can happen as a natural spontaneous experience. And it can happen to anyone, even you! DREAM of GOD ! |
