Religious practices are meaningless if they do not lead to direct experience with the Deity being worshiped. Promises of direct experience on a post-mortem basis has traditionally constituted the authority of many religions in the history of mankind. It is the unquestioned assumption accepted by both Christianity and Mohammedanism. It is as if the Devil appeared before the priestcraft and said “ I will give you boys all of the adoration, all of the control, all of the obedience, all of the property, all of the wealth, all of the power, everything that would be due God on the Earth plane if you will just do one small thing for me.” And what might that be?” say the priests. “Drive God from the matter world,” answers the great deceiver. “ But how can we possibly do that?” asked the priests. “ It’s very easy. Just get people to believe God can not be known until after they die!” Who teaches thus does the Devil’s work. Imagine selling the idea that you give all of your love and devotion to God in this preciously brief life to a legendary dogma under penalty and fear of eternal damnation, but do not find out if it is well placed or not until after you die! Fear is absolutely the worst and lowest reason to worship God. Pity those who only worship to avoid punishment. Christianity is a curious religion. It requires its devotees to fear both the Devil and their God, either one of which can mete out the most terrible punishments. Why would anyone admire, much less love and respect, a god that inflicts punishments above and below? What then is the difference between the Christian Devil and the Christian God ? By and large this is what has happened vis a vis religions and their devotees. People who sincerely long for God accept the idea that God can not be known in the here and now. After all, were we not all taught that we are all born in a state of congenital sin? People conditioned to think of themselves as lowly sinners are rarely bold enough to question the tenets and dogmatic propaganda of their given faith. In accepting the post-mortem proposition, they dare not even dream of any other possibility. Religion itself hast extinguished the expectation of direct experience, and reduced the possibility of direct contact with God in the here and now to a state of virtual non-existence. The first principle of spirituality is that GOD CAN NOT BE LIMITED IN ANY WAY. We may be limited, but our limitations are powerless to transfer a limitation unto God. Tenets and dogmas that place limitations on God are false teachings. Criticizing the tenets and dogmas of Christianity is an easy thing to do, but it is useless if not accompanied by better ideas, concepts, and teachings. The following teaching is instructional. It reinforces every religious belief in that it can generate direct personal experience with all of the avatars, great saints, prophets, and seers that have gone before, and who have themselves attained divine illumination. Belief (which is a form of not knowing,) thereby can be converted into irrefutable direct experience. No belief is needed to know. No other opinion counts. The teaching is called “ Coming Awake in the Dream.” It is a matter of control of consciousness rather than wishful thinking. It is very ancient and has been used throughout history by yogis of every description. The gateway to higher levels of mentation is generated in dreaming. It’s very easy to do, doesn’t require dedication to meditation, prayers, fasting, celibacy, or retreat from the world. Anyone and everyone has access to it when they sleep and dream. Most people have had the experience of coming awake to the fact that they are dreaming. Usually this is caused by a sudden danger that appears in the dream. Most times people just wake up. But other times the mind overcomes the danger by realizing that it is only a dream. One can not be killed by a fantasy. Why not fly instead of falling off the building ? Why not swim with the dolphin instead of drowning? Why not have sympathy for the stupid gunman who thinks he can hurt you? The dangers and anxieties welling up from our sub-conscious minds are never ending. But they are also easy to overcome. Occasionally dreamers experience a slowing down of action into freeze frame. Sometimes living characters become cartoons. The trigger of realization differs, but the phenomena is not all that unusual. Most people have already had this part of the experience. ‘Coming awake in the dream’ describes a mental phenomena in which the knower suddenly realizes it is separate from that which it is knowing (its own dream.) Before, an individual was part and parcel of the dream, undifferentiated from the dream action that is occurring. The Dreamer and the dream are one. Upon coming awake in the dream the dreamer has actually generated a gateway to the beyond. It is the interface and gateway to the worlds of the beyond. It may be deemed a test of mental control for lack of more accurate terms, but the skill for accessing higher planes of mentation comes when a dreamer, after realizing they are dreaming, is able to turn their sight 180 degrees and behold what has been behind them all along. This is called “ Turning the Seat of Consciousness.” It places one’s consciousness on the thresh hold of the infinite. No one can say exactly what the experience will be like. It is not unusual for ordinary unprepared individuals to meet Jesus the Christ, Holy Mother Mary, Moses, Mohammed, Buddha, Krishna, Osiris directly, close up and personal. Do not be surprised if they are not exactly what was expected. Discrepancies are evidence of the veracity of the experience, whereas anticipated expectations make things questionable. One of the things most people who have had this type of cosmental experience say is that their first impression of the astral was “This is really real! This is a higher reality. That other world pales in comparison.” Colors are super-vivid, vision has unbelievable clarity, dimension is crisp and clear. Images are beyond any focus available in the relative matter world of Time, Space, and Causation. Sometimes it’s a fog, or a veil. If so just stare into it with an unblinking gaze and wait a few seconds. Something will appear. In some instances, particularly if one is confronted by a dimension of total blackness, a small light will appear. It may look like the light at the end of a tunnel. It may look like its coming through a window, or a trap door. No matter. Keep your focus on the light and move toward it. It will get larger, and you will realize that while it is blinding, it gives off no heat. As it gets bigger, move faster and take a headlong plunge into it. Those who have seen the Light are called illumined and they are empowered to carry the Word of God, for that Light is the Godhead of creation. Hear truth: The Kingdom of Heaven is within. The goal is to experience this truth directly. No need to die before experiencing any of this. Those who have turned the seat of consciousness are entitled thereafter to wear their collars backwards, the reversed collar being a symbol of this type of yogi. The important thing to remember is one need not be a follower of any given religion to achieve this kind of experience where when the eyes that are below are shut, the eyes that are above are opened. It is a practice that is available to anyone. Followers of all the religions can practice coming awake in the dream, and then turning the seat of consciousness, without violating any religious tenets. It is available to atheists and agnostics as well. No belief required or allowed. Do it, you’ll be glad you did. And you will also have become a Gnostic: One who knows. DREAMING OF GOD IS EASIER THAN DIEING
